Expedition Overview
Float effortlessly in the hyper-saline waters of Laguna Cejar, surrounded by the breathtaking landscapes of the Salar de Atacama. This unique afternoon excursion allows you to experience buoyancy similar to the Dead Sea. After rinsing off, we visit the mysterious Ojos del Salar (twin freshwater sinkholes) and conclude the day watching a vibrant, multi-colored sunset at Laguna Tebinquinche with a classic Pisco Sour in hand.
The Route
3:00 PM Departure
Pick up from your hotel in San Pedro de Atacama and a scenic drive into the heart of the Salar de Atacama.
4:00 PM Laguna Cejar
Time to experience the anti-gravity float! Enjoy a swim in the turquoise salt waters, followed by time to use the facility's showers to rinse off the salt.
5:30 PM Ojos del Salar
Visit these two perfectly round, incredibly deep freshwater sinkholes that appear like eyes staring up from the dry desert floor.
6:30 PM Laguna Tebinquinche Sunset
Walk the trails around this shallow salt lagoon, known as a mirror for the Andes. Enjoy a complimentary cocktail and snack as the sun sets.
7:30 PM Return to San Pedro
Short drive back into town, dropping you off near the main plaza.
